FAQs

Can I count this towards CEUs?

When you complete the program, we will provide you with a certificate.  You will need to check with your regulatory body to see if will count as CEUs.

What is the time commitment for this program?

The program offers weekly content in the form of on-demand webinars and live discussions.  If you attend each week and fully integrate into the program, you will invest approximately 2 hours a week.  Those who want to expand their learning can anticipate 3-4 hours a week.

Are there any prerequisites for this program?

No, but it is encouraged that you also take a foundational theory course that resonates with you, such as Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFCT) created by Susan Johnson, the Gottman Method, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Relational Life Theory (RLT), Psychobiological Approach to Couples Therapy (PACT), or the Developmental Model by Ellyn Bader.   Training for these programs typically takes a couple of days, so you can take them at the same time as the Couple Therapist Toolbox.

I don't have any clinical training, can I still do this program?

Yes, you don't need any clinical skills to do this program.  If you don't work with clients, that is okay.  You will get to practice with your peers, and safely make mistakes and learn.  Most of the tools in this program can help you develop good clinical skills like asking questions, being curious, tracking content, learning to focus on the process, looking at clients systemically, understanding your triggers in clinical work, and more.

Why should I take your program, when there are certified programs out there?

The couples therapist toolbox is not meant to replace other trainings, but is additional training.  This program is designed to look at couples beyond what is taught in theory.  Most of what is implemented in the program, Amanda learned through years of supervision, 20 years of practice, and she has condensed it into a practical program.  Therapists are constantly learning.  The learning does not stop when you finish school.  In fact, school only provides a foundation, most of your learning happens after you graduate and when you put theory into practice.  The couples therapist toolbox supports clinicians in developing their skills in a safe supportive environment.  Couples is one the hardest populations to work with and it requires a lot of training to be competent and effective.

What if I cannot attend live?

You are encouraged to attend the live modules when possible to get the most out of the program. Participants will have an opportunity to put theory into practice in small and large groups. As such, the live sessions are not recorded.

Do you have a payment plan?

Yes, you can pay 4 monthly installments over the first four months.
